Welcome to Draft_! By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Draft_. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Service Description
Draft_ is an AI-powered personal statement builder designed to help aspiring medical students craft authentic, compelling personal statements. Our service:
- Provides conversational AI guidance to help you discover and articulate your unique story
- Offers country-specific requirements and recommendations
- Helps you organize your experiences and reflections
- Gives feedback on your statement drafts
Important: Draft_ is a guidance tool, not a writing service. We help you structure your thoughts and find your authentic voice—we do not write your statement for you.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Registration
To use Draft_, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old (or have parental consent if younger)
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- The accuracy of information you provide
- Compliance with these Terms while using your account
4. Acceptable Use Policy
When using Draft_, you agree NOT to:
- Misrepresent yourself: Provide false or misleading information in your profile or statements
- Plagiarize: Copy content from other sources and present it as your own
- Share accounts: Allow others to use your account or use someone else's account
- Abuse the service: Use automated scripts, bots, or attempt to overwhelm our systems
- Violate laws: Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Reverse engineer: Attempt to copy, modify, or extract our AI models or algorithms
- Harass others: Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
- Bypass restrictions: Circumvent any limitations or access controls
5. Academic Integrity & Ethical Use
⚠️ Critical: Your personal statement must be YOUR work
Draft_ is designed to help you think, reflect, and write your own authentic statement. We are fundamentally opposed to AI-generated essays. Our platform:
- Guides, doesn't write: Helps you discover your story through questions and feedback
- Structures thinking: Helps organize your experiences and reflections
- Provides feedback: Offers constructive criticism, not replacement text
- Encourages authenticity: Helps you find your genuine voice
By using Draft_, you acknowledge that:
- Your final statement will be written by you, in your own words
- You will not submit AI-generated text as your own work
- You understand that medical schools can detect inauthentic essays
- Academic dishonesty can result in application rejection or admission revocation
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the personal statements, essays, and content you create using Draft_. We do not claim ownership of your work.
By using our service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store your content on our servers
- Process your content through our AI systems to provide guidance
- Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve our service
6.2 Our Platform
Draft_, including our website, AI models, prompts, knowledge base, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Sarah Ali and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our platform
- Reverse engineer our AI guidance system
- Extract or scrape our knowledge base content
- Use our branding or trademarks without permission
7. No Guarantees of Admission
Important Disclaimer
Draft_ does not guarantee admission to any medical school, university, or program. We provide guidance tools to help you craft a stronger application, but admission decisions are made solely by the institutions you apply to.
Factors affecting admission include but are not limited to:
- Academic performance (GPA, test scores)
- Clinical and volunteer experience
- Interview performance
- Recommendation letters
- Overall application strength and fit
- Competition and available seats
8. Fees and Payment
Draft_ currently operates on a freemium model. We may introduce paid features in the future. If we do:
- We will provide clear notice before charging any fees
- Basic features will remain free for all users
- You will have the option to cancel before being charged
- Refund policies will be clearly communicated
9. Termination
9.1 By You
You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion:
- Your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- You will lose access to all saved statements and conversations
- We recommend exporting your data before deletion
9.2 By Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
- Provide false or misleading information
- Attempt to harm or disrupt our service
We will provide notice when possible, but may terminate immediately for serious violations.
10. Disclaimers
Draft_ is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy: We strive for accurate guidance but cannot guarantee perfection
- Availability: The service may experience downtime or interruptions
- Results: We do not guarantee specific outcomes or admission success
- AI Limitations: AI-generated guidance may contain errors or inconsistencies
- Third-Party Content: Country requirements and guidelines may change
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Draft_ and its creator Sarah Ali shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or opportunities
- Application rejections or admission decisions
- Damages resulting from use or inability to use the service
- Third-party actions or content
Our total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or €100 if no fees were paid).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Draft_ and Sarah Ali from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
- Your use or misuse of the service
- Content you submit or share
- Academic dishonesty or plagiarism
13. Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at support@draft.app. We'll work in good faith to resolve the issue.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, any legal action must be brought in the courts of Germany, and these Terms shall be governed by German law.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do:
- We'll update the "Last updated" date
- We'll notify you via email for significant changes
- You'll have the opportunity to review changes before they take effect
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
If you don't agree to updated Terms, you may delete your account.
15. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Draft_
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce a right doesn't waive that right
- Assignment: You may not transfer your account; we may assign our rights
- Force Majeure: We're not liable for delays due to circumstances beyond our control
